Walk-Bike Council of Addison County

The Walk-Bike Council will hold it's next meeting on Thursday, January 30th at the ACRPC.

Agenda:

• Update on the Walk Bike Summit 
  
• Update on projects being undertaken by the Vergennes Recreation Committee. (Amy)
  
• Update about the Addison Bike Club's project of new mountain bike trails in Vergennes. (Tim)
  • Coordination with Addison County Bike Club. (Tim)
    
• Discuss the idea of starting a Facebook group page or another format for outreach from our group- to announce and discuss projects and to work on the 'culture change' part of our mission with regards to walking and biking as transportation. (Tim)
  
• "Walk audit training available" -- RiseVT is sponsoring a 4-5 hour walk audit training on May 7 with Mark Fenton, a public health, planning and transportation consultant. One representative from Addison County can attend free of charge. Michele is looking for suggestions of folks who may want to train to do walk audits and want to attend on May 7. (Michele)
  
• Update on the date and some ideas for the Human Powered Parade and discuss some collaborations and messages. (Melanie)
• Review placement of additional bike racks being purchased as part of the tunnel project. Middlebury has funding for more racks and general ideas of where to place them, but wants specific recommendations. E.g. they can put racks on the green, but where on the green. (Mike)
  
  
• Triangle Loop project -- Due to the overlapping topic, interest, and membership, the Triangle Loop project steering committee will meet during the second half of the Walk-Bike council meeting. All are welcome to stay for this portion and we'll be joined by SE Group project consultants. 
  
  • Updates on the project and next steps. (Mike, SE Group)
  • Need and planning for a public meeting on the project. (Mike, SE Group)
  • The project excluded designating a route through downtown Middlebury. Might we form a "committee" to work on what the route through Middlebury should be? (Doug)
